WHAT WE DO –

Home Assessment & Consulting

Building/Remodeling Industry Consulting

For builders and re-modelers, the aging-in-place market space is expanding in exponential proportions. Remodeling projects, typically completed to meet a desire to upgrade or change, can be expanded to a more universal design approach. Extra features can be integrated into project designs to accommodate the clients today and tomorrow.

We provide the expertise, experience and perspective to work with your clients and your team to add value to the remodeling process and projects.

Community/Facility Assessments

For managers of communities (independent and assisted living) and owners of the board and care residences, there is an inherent business risk when a client falls in their community. The likelihood that the client will be able to return, after hospitalization, rehab and the re-evaluation of the situation by anxious family members, is a significant contributor to client turnover.

Our consulting for fall risk hazards and development of fall prevention strategies can improve outcomes for the residents and the community.

We evaluate common spaces, living spaces and apartments to determine opportunities to reduce risks.

** The consulting services are available on a project basis or hourly basis.

Please contact click on contact to schedule a fall risk mitigation survey of your community as soon as possible.

Fall Prevention is Mandatory

  • Nearly 90% of older adults want to age-in-place and stay independent.
  • However: 85% of seniors have done nothing to prepare their homes for aging.

Falls are the leading cause of death due to injury for those over 65. Falls account for 25% of all hospital admissions and 40% of all nursing home admissions.

Our 240-Point Comprehensive Assessment includes the exterior of the home, electrical safety, lighting evaluation, fire safety, and all rooms including bathrooms, bedrooms, laundry room, storage areas, garage, basement, kitchen and dining room. Afterwards we prepare a summary with recommendations.
